Mesa Verde

Mesa Verde

Mesa Verde is best known for a large number of well preserved cliff dwellings, houses
built in shallow caves along the canyon walls. From the 11th to the 13th century
("Classic Period"), the Ancient Puebloan Indians lived in these dwellings.

Nearby Durango in south-west Colorado. More than 4000 findings of the
ancient Anasazi people. Sensational dwellings. We already were there two times,
but we will come visiting again. Around 7500 feet above sea level.
